Made in Manitoba Breakfast READ MORE

The Farm & Food Discovery Centre is hosting a Made in Manitoba Breakfast on Saturday, May 4th with the help of Agriculture in the Classroom. Visit the Discovery Centre between 9am and 12pm to eat and celebrate local food. Sausages, eggs, pancakes, fruit and chocolate milk will be served. Wander through the exhibits after breakfast or take part in the fun activities for the kids. Click here for more details. Experience the diverse tastes of Mexico, Russia, Australia, Paris and Ireland, no passport required, as part of Assiniboine Park Conservancy's Foodie Series. These educational two-hour seminars feature historical, horticultural and cultural information, as well as expert pairings from Manitoba Liquor Marts. Sessions are held in MLCC test kitchens. The 27th annual Teddy Bear's Picnic will be held Sunday, May 26 at Assiniboine Park. This event brings together kids, teddy bears and parents for a day of health education, fun activities and entertainment. Granny's Poultry, Manitoba Turkey Producers and Canada Safeway will be there all day, playing games, handing out coupons and recipes and hanging out with TOMAS the turkey!

Canning and Food Preservation Clinic READ MORE

Learn how to freeze berries and sauces, can peaches and pickles (possibly beans if cucumbers are not available) tomato soup, and dehydrate herbs, tomatoes and fruit!

The cost to participate is $30+GST, and includes preserves, jars and recipes. Participants will be able to bring most food products home with them.
